Program Description

A Post Psychiatric Leisure Experience (A.P.P.L.E.) is an organization run by and for people who have experienced mental health challenges. We focus on providing leisure and recreational opportunities with the goal of helping consumer-survivors make new friends and have fun. A.P.P.L.E. strives to enhance the quality of life of our members by offering mutual support at our drop-ins, and affordable recreational and cultural activities both at A.P.P.L.E. and in the community. A.P.P.L.E. tries to prevent hospitalization through encouraging membership participation, including volunteer work and employment, in the operations of our organization. Model of service is peer support.
