Program Description

Crisis Support Residence provides a safe atmosphere for brief stays up to five days for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. During a person's stay, mental health professionals trained to work with people experiencing crisis, will help him or her with brief counselling, skills training and referrals to appropriate social and medical services. Model of service is psychosocial rehabilitation.

Access Information

People can access the Crisis Support Residence by contacting the Thunder Bay Crisis Response Service. Referrals can also be made by community organizations on behalf of individuals in need of crisis support. Who is eligible?: Individuals experiencing emotional distress, suicidal thoughts, acute phase of psychiatric illness, significant problems in relationships or living skills triggered by a psychiatric illness.
