Program Description

The service has two components: Case consultation provides primary care providers with access to psychiatrists and social workers for discussion and advice on client/patient cases; Psychiatric consultation and, when appropriate, brief culturally sensitive interventions for newly arrived refugees (eg., GARs, PSRs and refugee claimants) with psychological issues or concerns.

Access Information

Available to all refugees in their first two years in Toronto. Clients can access services by having a direct referral submitted by a Family Physician or Nurse Practitioner. Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) documentation required (Refugee Protection Claimant Document or Interim Federal Health Program Certificate).
