Program Description

Behavioural Supports Ontario assists individuals with aged-related mental health issues. It will improve the quality of life for older adults who have responsive behaviours arising from mental health issues, substance use, dementia, delirium and other neurological disorders. The program provides specialized mental health services to inpatients and outpatients. The program utilizes leading practices such as the Recovery Approach, P.I.E.C.E.S/ U-First! frameworks, Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) in Dementia Care, and Montessori-based Dementia Programming.

Access Information

All referrals are triaged through the North East Behavioural Support Ontario program. They can be initiated by anyone. Individuals under the age of 55 with age related mental health issues may be referred to this program.
