Program Description

Children and youth referred to the Better Behaviours Clinic may have social, emotional and learning challenges that result in disruptive behaviour at home, at school and in the community. Brief, goal-focused individual therapy for children, youth and families is offered to help learn new ways to deal with problems related to complex disruptive behaviour. Three psycho-educational groups are offered: the Incredible Years Parenting program, the Dinosaur Social Skills program, and the Coping Power program. The Incredible Years Parenting Program is a group for parents who need help managing aggressive and disruptive behaviour in their children aged three to 12. The Dinosaur Social Skills Program is a group for children aged six to eight. The Coping Power program is a group for children aged -12 and their parents to help manage aggressive and disruptive behaviour. The program teaches children positive ways of communication, solving problems, managing feelings and developing friendships.
